Language

Honey Bee Language
Let's have a look on a early protolanguage, the 'dance' of the honey bee. Coming back to the hive  the honey bee has the ability to transfer information of distance and direction to other bees by dancing on a honeycomb. The bee language is quite analagous, because the information is directly coupled to intensity and direction of the dance. But the important fact is, that for the affected bees in the hive are a f t e r the dance  the presence of the incoming bee becomes unnecessesary. They have stored the information and are able to translate it into an appropriate action. A time-space decoupling took place.

Human Language
A very  simple experiment: Try to communicate with your family without words. What happens? You c a n  transmit a certain part of your feelings and moods, but you are not able to evoke a complex action, that you intend the partner to do.
With language you can transcend the individuum to individuum border up to a certain degree and you can even take influence on long lasting issues like opinions and world views. The backdraw of language is its volatility, the need for a context of transfering individuals a n d the only storage is the human memory.

Writing
With the invention of writing another time-space-decoupling took place. Language now could be fixed and stored in an exterior medium. Anyone, who was able to read in this certain language is now able to get access to a certain text and the direct link between  the originator and the consumer is now broken.
